Re “Resident says activists should ‘educate themselves’ on Aliso Canyon gas field improvements” (Oct. 23):

Nancy Starczyk is wrong about the facility being safe. All of the wells at Aliso are transversed by the Santa Susana fault. Unless SoCalGas can move that fault, the facility is a danger to some 500,000 residents.

She is also wrong about any scamming. Anyone who viewed Dr. Jeffrey Nordella’s presentation on Oct. 14, knows toxic chemicals from the blowout are in our bodies, causing many serious, often life-threatening illnesses.

Those who had to temporarily relocate had to do so for their family’s sake. Maybe Starczyk doesn’t have children or doesn’t care about the nosebleeds, headaches and rashes. The rest of the residents here do care about our neighbors.

The Community Advisory Committee she speaks of is not a “conduit to the community” and operates in secret. She got that appointment by kissing up to SoCalGas at a Aug. 2016 hearing.
